Selection Process & Scholarship Policy

Important Clarifications

1. Discretion of Management:

The process of shortlisting candidates for interviews and awarding scholarships under HPS SAT shall be solely at the discretion of the Management of Hera Public School. While the written examination forms an important component of the selection process, no fixed cut-off percentage or rank shall automatically qualify or disqualify a candidate for an interview or scholarship.

2. Merit-Based but Not Score-Dependent

The selection process is merit-based, however, merit shall not be determined solely by the percentage of marks obtained in the written examination.

  • A candidate scoring relatively higher marks may not necessarily be called for an interview, and
  • A candidate scoring comparatively lower marks may be shortlisted, depending on overall suitability

3. Residential Program Scholarship Policy

The scholarship will be available only to students enrolled in the Residential Program. It will not be applicable to students enrolled as Day Scholars.

4. Holistic Evaluation

Shortlisting for interviews and final award of scholarships shall be based on a holistic evaluation, which may include, but is not limited to:

  • Academic preparedness and conceptual clarity
  • Subject knowledge and problem-solving skills
  • Creativity and analytical ability
  • Adaptability and learning attitude
  • Discipline, conduct, and regularity
  • Willingness and ability to integrate with the academic, residential, and holistic growth environment of Hera Public School

5. Interview-Based Final Decision

The final decision regarding the award of scholarship (full or partial) shall be taken only after the interview process, based on combined performance in the written test and interview. The decision of the management in this regard shall be final and binding.

6. No Claim as a Matter of Right

Participation in HPS SAT or securing a certain score does not confer any automatic right to an interview call or scholarship. All scholarships are selective, competitive, and discretionary.

7. Scholarship Division

A single full scholarship can also be divided into two partial scholarships, allowing more students to benefit.

8. Jurisdiction Clause

In case of any dispute, disagreement, or legal matter arising out of the HPS SAT examination, selection process, interview, or scholarship award, the jurisdiction shall lie exclusively in Azamgarh (Uttar Pradesh).

✅ Scholarship Continuation Policy

  • If the scholar's academic performance, discipline, or overall conduct is not up to the mark, HPS reserves the right to revoke or reduce the scholarship at any time
  • Scholarship recipients will be monitored regularly, and their performance will be evaluated to ensure they meet the academic and behavioral standards expected at HPS

Interview Process

After the written exam, there will be a personal interview session for further selection of students applying for Scholarship on Merit and Merit-Cum-Means.
